There is a large nest in a tree next to the north wing of the Walsh Library building. A male and a female gave birth to two chicks
in March. The name of the male hawk is Hawkeye Pierce in honor of Alan Alda, our famous alumni. The female is called Rose Hill.
We have not yet come up with names for the youngsters. The male frequently sits atop the cross on the Martyrs Court Dormitory
building looking for lunch—pigeons, squirrels, etc. That apartment building on Fifth Avenue has nothing on Fordham University.
